Effective: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Hangr ("Hangr," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Hangr mobile app and website (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. Terms not defined here have the meaning given to them there.
When you create an account or use the Services, we collect information you choose to provide, which may include:
You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may limit your ability to use some features of the Services.
Like most apps, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Services, such as device identifiers, app usage data, crash logs, and approximate location (if you grant location permission, used to show local weather in the app).
If you enable notifications, we store a device push-notification token linked to your account so we can send you reminders you've opted into (such as a daily prompt to plan your outfit). We also log which onboarding screens you view, tied to a random session identifier, so we can understand where people drop off during setup and improve that flow — these onboarding logs are not linked to your name or email.
Your wardrobe photos and item details are currently stored locally on your device, not on our servers — we do not have access to them unless a future version of the app changes this, in which case we will update this Policy. Your account, style-preference answers, and subscription status (described below) are stored on our servers so your profile and subscription can follow you across devices.
If you subscribe to Hangr+, our payment processor (RevenueCat) informs us whether your subscription is active, which plan you're on, and when it renews or expires, so the app can unlock the right features for your account. We do not receive or store your card or payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
We use the information we collect to:
Hangr's AI-powered features process the wardrobe photos, preferences, and feedback you provide in order to generate personalized outfit suggestions and styling recommendations. This processing may involve trusted third-party AI/ML service providers (such as Anthropic) acting on our behalf, under contractual obligations to protect your information. We may also use de-identified, aggregated data to improve the overall quality of our AI Functions — such aggregated data cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
If you sign in using Apple or Google, those providers will share certain account information with us (such as your name and email address) in accordance with your settings and their own privacy policies. Your use of Apple or Google's services is governed by their respective privacy policies, not this one.
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to help protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at the email below so we can delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You can exercise these rights by emailing us at ridwanwiseman@gmail.com. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
You can delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at the address above.
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or Texas), you may have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, the right to request deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the email above.
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by our service providers. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete your associated data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by in-app notice or email). Your continued use of the Services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us at ridwanwiseman@gmail.com.
