These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and Hangr ("Hangr," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Hangr mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Any personal data you submit to us, or that we collect about you, is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms and together with these Terms form this "Agreement."
Hangr is an AI-powered personal styling and wardrobe management app. Users photograph clothing items to build a digital closet, and Hangr's AI-powered features ("AI Functions") generate outfit suggestions and styling recommendations based on the user's wardrobe, stated preferences, and feedback.
To use most features of the Services you must create an account ("Account"). Hangr supports account creation and sign-in via email magic link, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google — we do not currently use passwords or SMS/phone-based verification. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your Account, and to keep it up to date.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your Account and for all activity that occurs under it. If you believe your Account has been compromised, contact us immediately at the email below.
Hangr may offer optional paid subscription plans ("Hangr+") that unlock additional features. Where offered, subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (as applicable), and the following terms apply to any auto-renewing subscription:
Hangr may from time to time offer free access to certain features on a beta or trial basis. We may modify, limit, or discontinue any free or beta feature at any time, and additional terms may apply if such a feature transitions to a paid offering.
"AI Functions" means the artificial intelligence and machine-learning features offered as part of the Services. Hangr and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the AI Functions themselves.
"User Content" means any photos, preferences, feedback, or other content or information you provide, upload, or submit to the Services, including wardrobe photos and styling feedback. When you submit User Content for use with the AI Functions, you receive AI-generated output in return ("Output," together with User Content, "AI Content").
You are solely responsible for your User Content, including making sure you have the right to upload it and that it does not violate any law or third party's rights. You represent and warrant that your User Content will not be unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or harmful, and will not contain malicious code.
By submitting User Content, you grant Hangr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and analyze that content in order to operate, provide, and improve the Services and the AI Functions, including using Anthropic and/or other third-party AI/ML service providers to process such content on our behalf, subject to our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.
We make no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, suitability, or reliability of any Output. Outfit suggestions and styling recommendations are provided for informational and entertainment purposes and should not be relied upon without your own independent judgment.
You agree not to use the Services to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any account that violates these Terms.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the Services, and that they have read and agreed to this Agreement on your behalf where required by applicable law.
You may stop using the Services and request deletion of your Account at any time by emailing us at the address below. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of this Agreement. Provisions of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply after termination.
Following termination or deletion of your Account, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Deleted data generally cannot be recovered.
All content, design, software, trademarks, and other materials that make up the Services (excluding your own User Content) are owned by Hangr or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services without our prior written consent.
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Services to us, you agree that we may use them freely, without obligation or compensation to you.
If you believe content available through the Services infringes your copyright, please contact us at the email below with: a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the allegedly infringing material within the Services, your contact information, and a statement made in good faith and under penalty of perjury that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR NEEDS. YOU USE ANY AI-GENERATED OUTPUT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANGR AND ITS OWNERS, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).
You agree to indemnify and hold Hangr harmless from any claims, losses, or liabilities (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your User Content, or your violation of this Agreement or applicable law.
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT REQUIRES YOU AND HANGR TO RESOLVE DISPUTES THROUGH BINDING ARBITRATION ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, RATHER THAN IN COURT OR AS PART OF A CLASS ACTION.
If a dispute arises out of or relates to this Agreement or your use of the Services, you agree to first contact us at the email below so we can attempt to resolve it informally. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, it will be referred to and finally resolved by binding arbitration administered under the Arbitration and Mediation Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, before a sole arbitrator, seated in Lagos, Nigeria, conducted in the English language. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You and Hangr agree that any arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where eligible.
Except as set out in Section 13, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by in-app notice or email). Your continued use of the Services after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign this Agreement without our consent; we may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Hangr regarding the Services.
